Also included are the AC power supply, fan tray with filter, as well as a packet forwarding engine and routing engine. The hardware system is fully redundant, including power supplies, routing engines, and cooling system. A fully configured router is designed so that no single point of failure can cause the entire system to fail. Only a fully configured router provides complete redundancy. All other configurations provide partial redundancy. The MX104 Universal Routing Platform is a fixed-configuration platform that supports modular interfaces. The MX104 is a mobile backhaul-optimized, ETSI 300 mm-compliant chassis with high redundancy and 80 Gbps of throughput.
